What the real check is
- A DMV examiner asks you 15 questions out loud and shows you 4 road signs.
- You answer in English. You have up to 30 minutes.
- To pass: 10 of 15 answers in English, on topic and correct, and 3 of 4 signs.
- New drivers take it before the road test. Drivers stopped by the CHP for English get a test date 7 to 14 days later.
The DMV does not publish its questions. These are practice questions on the same kinds of topics.
